When you’re reading other poem, you will like some and then you won’t like some. You should note why you like a poem and try to create that in your poem. For example, I read a poem and it was mysterious and spooky. I like the mood and mystery of a dead person in the wood. I think that the mood got to me. I didn’t like the poem that was too long or I couldn’t really understand it. You shouldn’t write poem that are awkward or lack meanings either.
Description
You can describe what happens to the reader. You can use vivid images and motions to guide the reader through. You can choose the right words to put in your poem. A poem is as good as the words in it. You should make it flow. Symbols should be use to make it sounds more like poetry. Good poetry uses powerful symbols and metaphor.
Editing
You can read it out loud and correct anything that sounds too awkward. When it’s flowing, you are done. You can go back to it days later and read it again. You can correct any problems after that.
